You can manually assign teammates to your projects without having to wait for them to accept them. This is only recommended if you have direct control over your teammates' schedules or if you talked to them beforehand to make sure they will be available.

Using this feature does not prevent your teammates from being able to accept available projects themselves. If you're looking for a way to keep teammates from seeing or accepting your projects before you assign them, make sure to hide your projects. Here is a separate guide on how to keep your projects hidden:

⚙️ Enabling Direct Assign

The first step is to enable the Direct Assign feature on your Settings under the Projects tab:

Click on the "Disabled" switch to enable it, and it will turn green, meaning it is now enabled:

Once enabled, go to your Schedule page, find the project to which you want to assign your teammate, and click on it.

A card will open with some project details. Click "Assign Teammate".

It is not possible to assign a teammate to an expired project, and the button will not show for these projects.

A pop-up will open where you can either start typing the teammate's name or just choose them from the drop down menu:

Once you click "Assign" to confirm, the teammate will be assigned to the project, as if they had accepted it. They will then be notified that they have a new assignment.

⚠️ Teammates can also choose to disable manual assignments from their end, which means you will not be able to assign them manually if they'd prefer not to be assigned.

A teammate that has disabled this option on their side will show grayed out on your list, like this:

🛠️ Troubleshooting

Why doesn't my teammate's name show on the drop down menu of the Direct Assign section? 💭

If you tried assigning your teammate to a project but couldn't see their name when you clicked to choose a teammate, make sure they are assigned to your property. You can check here:

On this page, you can see if your teammate's name is showing under the property. If it's not, click on the three dots icon, then on "Update Property" next to the property in question, and then go to the "Teammates" tab to enable them:

If you need help enabling your teammates to a property, check out the following guide:

Once they are added to your property and allow you to assign projects to them, their name should come up in the "Assign Teammate" list.
