When you work with your existing teammates and co-hosts, you might wonder how you can add them to your team to work with you. This guide will show you how.

🤔 What is the difference between a teammate and a co-host in Turno?

A teammate is a service worker like a cleaner, inspector, maintenance worker, pool cleaner, etc, who can accept and complete projects.

A co-host has access to your account and can do everything you can do (if you set the co-host as an "administrator"). If you set up specific permissions for a co-host, they will have limited access to certain features on your account. Co-hosts cannot accept or complete projects, only view and edit them like you can.

Inviting teammates 🧼

To add teammates, access your Teammates page. There you can view and edit settings for your teammates and check any pending invitations you might have sent. Here is an example of what this page looks like:

To send an invite to a teammate, click "Invite Teammates(s)" on the top-right of the screen, right next to "Find a Cleaner in the Marketplace".

A pop-up will open up where you can enter the teammate's name, choose to send the invite via email or phone number (text/SMS message) and enter their email address or phone number you would like to send the invite to.

Next, select which properties this teammate will be added to, so they'll have access to projects from those properties.

📑 Note: This setting is not permanent, so you can change which properties the teammate is on later. After they accept your invite and are part of your Turno team, this will be available under your property settings.

After clicking ¨Next", you will see a page where you can set up the role and price for your teammate on each property you add them to. For more details, the numbers below refer to each item in the screenshot example:

  1. Bulk apply button: If you select multiple properties via the checkbox, fill out the fields at the top of the list, and click "Apply," the selected role and price on that row will be applied to all properties selected.

  2. Cleaner role toggle: If the teammate is set to a cleaning role, this toggle changes the cleaner's role for that property. A Primary cleaner will receive project offers first. In contrast, a Backup cleaner can only see and accept projects rejected by that property's Primary cleaners.

  3. Price field: Here, you can enter the rate for that cleaner when they clean that property.

  4. Project price type option: Here, you can select whether that property's rate will be paid on a per-project or per-hour basis.

Once you click "Send Invitation" at the bottom right corner, your invite will be sent! 🎉

If your teammate already has a Turno account with the information you used to invite them, they will be automatically connected with you. If they don't have a Turno account, they will be added to your team as soon as they create an account using the link and code on the invite you sent to their email address or phone number.

Pending invites 📩

If the teammate you invited doesn't have a Turno account yet, you should see the invitation you sent to them in the Pending Invites section on My Team.

You can resend the invite by clicking on the "rotating arrows" icon (1), or cancel the invite by clicking on the "page with an x" icon (2).

If your teammate has already created a Turno account with the email or phone number you invited, you will be connected as soon as you click send, and they won't need to accept your invitation. If they're not on Turno yet, the invitation you just sent will show up in your list of pending invitations. ✅

👉 If your teammate doesn't have an account yet, they will receive a link that they can use to sign up to Turno, as well as a code (which you can see in the list of pending invites) that they will use at sign up so their account will be connected to yours.

By default, you can't connect by invite with a cleaner that you interacted with on the marketplace. Read more about our policies for marketplace connections here: Turno Off-Platform Policy (for marketplace connections). Make sure you accept the cleaner's bid to add them to your team.

If you already knew the cleaner or got in touch with them before interacting through the Turno marketplace, open a chat with our support team so we can investigate the situation and connect you with the cleaner.

Inviting Co-Hosts 🏘️

To invite a co-host, access your 'Co-host' tab under My Team. You will see your co-hosts and a list of pending co-host invitations, if you have any.

To send an invite to a co-host, click "Invite Co-hosts" at the top left of the page.

When you click "Invite Co-hosts", a pop-up will open where you can enter their name and select the type of invitation you want to send (email or phone number/SMS). Then, enter their email address or phone number and click "next".

Next, you can choose a role for your co-host: administrator or co-host (with specific permissions).

  • The administrator role can see all of your properties and do everything you can do, except delete you (the account owner).

  • If you give them the co-host role, you can choose which properties that co-host will have access to and if they can edit checklists, inventory, teammates on your team, payment methods, reports, and properties and property groups.

An administrator co-host account will work as a secondary login for the main host account, and will have the same capabilities as the main host unless specific permissions are set. You can change a co-host's set of permissions at any time.

This guide from our help center explains permissions in more detail:

Pending Invites 📩

After inviting a co-host, you should be able to see the invitation in the Co-hosts Pending Invites section.

You can re-send an invite by clicking on the "rotating arrows" icon (1), or cancel the invite by clicking on the "page with an x" icon (2).

👉 Your co-host will receive a link they must use to sign up, as well as a code (which you can see in this list) that they will use at sign up so their account will be connected to yours.

When they use your invite and are connected with you, their name will be removed from the list of pending invites, and they will be added to your team.

⚠️ A co-host account must be created from an invite and is connected permanently to the host that invited them. If the main host decides to remove the co-host, their co-host account will be deleted.
