How to use auto payments with your teammates on Turno

Auto-pay streamlines the payment procedure by automatically initiating payment processing as soon as your cleaner completes a project, enhancing efficiency and ensuring timely payment for their services while being hassle-free for you. 💸

How do auto payments work? 🪙

For Marketplace cleaners, Auto Payments are mandatory and can't be disabled. Depending on your payment method, payments will be authorized up to one day before a project happens to make sure everything is in order and ready to send your payment to the cleaner.

For Non-Marketplace teammates, payments will be authorized when as they mark the project as completed. Within a few hours of the project being completed, processing should initiate with your bank or card issuer.

How to set up auto-pay 🪙

To enable auto-pay for your teammates, access your account via our website, then click on the menu icon on the top left of your screen. Navigate to Payments > Auto Payments on the sidebar menu.

On the Auto Payments page, you'll find a list of all of your teammates. 

Toggle the switch to enable or disable auto payments for non-marketplace teammates with a payment account established.

If a teammate has not set up their Stripe account to receive payments, you can click to Invite to setup account. This will send them a notification that lets them know you wish to turn on auto payments, and we will prompt them to set up their payments account.

For marketplace teammates, the option to disable auto payments is unavailable, since auto payments are mandatory for them.

Following the completion of a project or any manual payment to your teammate, there is a 2-week window to cancel any payments. All transactions are handled by Stripe, a trusted payment processor we partner with. None of your credit card or bank details are stored in our system.


I enabled auto payments, but my payment did not go through. Why? 🪙

Auto payments work going forward from the moment you enable them, and we do not attempt to charge you for past projects. This means that if you only turn on auto payments for a cleaner only after they started or completed any projects, the auto payment for those projects will not trigger.

If you have enabled auto payments, but don't see any payments logged on your payment history for a recently completed project, it is likely that you enabled auto pay after the teammate completed it.

However, you can still send a payment to the teammate for any projects completed before you enabled auto pay. Just go to the Manual Payments page, select the cleaner and the project, and make a manual payment.
