Teammates (also referred to as cleaners) that you add to a property on Turno can have either one of these two statuses: primary or backup.
🧼 Primary teammates will be notified about your projects for a property first, so they will be the first to have a chance to either accept or reject them.
🧽 Backup teammates will only be notified of projects after all primary teammates in the property either reject a project or have already been removed from it. You can also open projects up to backups either manually or automatically
For more information about adding and removing teammates from your properties, check the following guide:
Changing the status of primaries and backups 🔄️
There are two ways to change the status of your teammates on your properties: from the Properties page, where you can add multiple teammates to a property at once, and from the My Team page, where you can add a specific teammate to multiple properties at once. Follow the instructions that best fit your needs.
📑 Primary or backup teammates that share the same status within their priority will be notified about new available projects at the same time. Thus, all primary teammates will receive projects at the same time, and the same applies to backups when they receive projects. Accepting projects will work on a "first come, first serve" basis.
Adding more than one teammate to a property at once 🏠
This option is useful when you import a new listing to your Turno account and need to add cleaners to it. To change the status of teammates in your property, go to your Properties page, and click on the name of the property you wish to edit the status of your teammates for. You can also click the three dots icon on the property card and select "Update Property":
Then, navigate to the "Teammates" tab, which will look like this:
Here you can choose to set a teammate as a primary teammate for this property, so they can receive project requests first; or set them as a backup teammate, which means they will only see the projects if all of the primary teammates in that property reject them. To change the teammate's status, toggle the switch next to the teammate, and confirm:
You can even remove someone from that property if you don't wish them to receive any projects from that property. To remove them, click the bin icon under Actions:
❗ You can have as many primary and backup teammates on a property as you wish, but you must always select whether they are primary or back up. A teammate can't be enabled on a property without a priority. It is also not possible to rank cleaners within their priority status.
Adding a teammate to more than one property at once 👥
This one is good for when you have a new cleaner on your team and want to add them to properties. Go to My Team, where you can click the pencil icon on the right side of the screen, next to the teammate's name:
You will be prompted to choose the properties you want to add the teammate to and which roles you want them to have, along with their rate.
Click "Save" to apply your changes.
📑 We do not notify your teammates about changes you make to their roles.
Sending projects to back up teammates ⚙️
By default, backup teammates will only receive project requests after all primary teammates on the property have rejected them first, unless the property has no primary teammates.
However, you can show projects to backups without having to wait for your primaries to reject them. To make a project available to backups, find the project in your schedule, open its details and and click the three dots button. Then select "Show to backup teammates".
In case you'd like projects to always open up to backups, you can also set how long in advance you want projects to show to backups automatically. You will find the option on your Account Settings page:
This way, in case a project goes unassigned until X days before its start date, your backups will be alerted that you have a project available.
