The Turno Marketplace is a feature for cleaners and hosts to meet and connect in order to start a new business relationship. This article will give you an overview of the marketplace, as well as an introduction on how to join as a cleaner by opening your marketplace application.

How does the Marketplace work?

On Turno, hosts looking for cleaners create a cleaner search to look for new cleaners for their property. They provide details about their unit, such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, which are then shared with cleaners in the area as a marketplace offer. As a cleaner, you can bid on these offers with the price you want to charge to clean the property.

The bidding process

Hosts open cleaner searches on their side of Turno which, in turn, are shown to cleaners as "Offers", and cleaners bid on these offers. It is important to note that the cleaner search or offer itself isn't tied to any specific project or cleaning date. Instead, it marks the start of a long-term relationship between you and your new customers.

⚠️ Hosts and cleaners are encouraged to communicate on the Turno chat and negotiate before the bid is accepted. However, requesting or providing information such as phone numbers, emails, social media handles, addresses or any kind of identifiable information is not allowed. Messages containing personal information will be blocked.

When a customer opens a search within your area range, you will be notified through web, email, or push notification (if you use the Turno mobile app for cleaners) and will be able to bid on it under the "Marketplace" page on the mobile app, or the "Marketplace Offers" page on the website.

Learn more about bidding in the following guide:

Bid acceptance and rejection

Once a bid is placed, customers can accept or reject your bid.

When a bid is rejected, nothing happens. When a bid is accepted, you are added to the customer's team so you can start to work together.

After a host and cleaner are connected, the host can choose to share all or specific cleaning projects with their selected cleaners.

How do I join the Turno Marketplace?

To be eligible to bid on offers, it's necessary to join the Marketplace. When everything is in order and you are approved, you can start bidding on offers that hosts open within your area range.

Applying to the Marketplace

In order to apply, go to Find New Customers in the website, or to the Marketplace screen in the Turno for Cleaners mobile app. Then, tap "Join our Marketplace" to start filling out your marketplace application.

You will be taken to a few steps to follow. You should fill out this information in order, and in one go. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes, though! 😉

  • In step number 1, Cleaning Experience, simply indicate whether you have any prior experience in cleaning and, if so, for how many years.

  • In step number 2, Service Area, enter an address within the area you wish to work in. We recommend that you use your own address, but this is not a requirement.

    • If you have trouble entering an address, contact our chat support or send an email to [email protected] for assistance.

    • After you enter an address, select how far you are willing to travel. The range of the slider goes from 5 to 50 miles.

  • In step number 3, Profile, add your profile picture and bio.

    • Make sure to allow the Turno app to access your camera and phone library to be able to upload a photo. We use AI to identify that your picture follows our guidelines, so it may take a moment for your photo to process.

    • Next, enter a description of yourself and your cleaning experience. If you need help, check out these tips for writing a bio!

    • In this step you can also add your business information, if you have it - such as your business name, website, and social networks.

    • Finally, upload front and back pictures of your identification document, such as a driver's license. Please make sure that your ID contains a photo of yourself and that your name is clearly visible.

  • In step number 4, Work References, provide the contact information of one or more references. Make sure these contacts are people you have previously cleaned for, and that they can attest to your cleaning experience. You can add a custom message inviting them to comment on your work for them.

And you're done! Your application will be released for review once one of your references submits a comment for you. After one of them responds, allow 1 or 2 days for our team to review your application. You can also add more references as you wait - having more references will increase your odds of being approved. Good luck!

Keep an eye on your app and email notifications. Our team may reach out to you with revision requests if we need you to adjust something in your application and profile before you can be approved.

While you wait, it may be useful to learn more about the Marketplace Application in this Frequently Asked Questions guide:

Once you are approved

After your marketplace application gets approved, you will receive a notification to complete your profile setup. The Marketplace screen in your cleaner app will display the next steps for you to complete. These steps don't have to be completed in order, and you can pause and return to them at any time. However, remember that your marketplace profile and ability to post bids will only be activated once you finish all of these setup tasks.

If you encounter any difficulties with the setup process, contact our chat support. We're available 24/7 to ensure your experience is smooth and enjoyable. You can also reach us via email at [email protected]. Welcome to Turno!
