Checklists play an essential role in your business as an STR host - after all, they help organize everything your cleaners must do to give your rental that home-away-from-home feel that your guests seek.

To help give your cleaners a solid plan of action, Turno offers a checklist editor where you can create checklists to assign to your properties and share them with cleaners in a practical manner. Here's how to use it.

Note: If you are a co-host you might not have permission to manage checklists on your account due to your main host's settings.

How to start

To create a new checklist, go to the Checklists section on the sidebar of the website or click here.

If you don't have any checklists, click the button to create a "New Checklist" to begin.

You will see text fields to write the title of your checklist, and a short description. There will also be a drop down menu where you can select the type of project you want that checklist to be for.

Click "Next: Add items" when your title, description and project type are ready.

Add modules and items

Our checklist editor allows you to create modules, each with its own items, so you can group items to organize them into rooms of your property, for example. To add a new module to your checklist, click "➕ Add module" on the top right of the editor.

A new module will appear - you can click the arrow pointing down on the right to open the module and give it a title.

Inside a module you can create items for your checklist. Click "➕ Add an item" to make a new item for this module.

You can also click the three dots next to the number of items to open a few options - you can highlight this module to draw attention to it, duplicate it, or delete it.

Editing each checklist item

All your checklist items have a set of options that you can use to enhance your checklist. Click the three dots next to an item to open its menu.

You can perform the following actions on an item:

  • toggle highlight an item to draw attention to it

  • add an image to the item (useful for adding staging photos to your checklist)

  • toggle require photo documentation so the item can only be checked off after uploading a photo to it

  • toggle require notes on an item

  • copy an item into another module in this checklist

  • delete an item

Moving modules and items

You can also move your checklist modules and items around to change their order in your checklist. Click and drag the blocks icon next to the module or item you wish to move. Moving a module moves all items in it too.
